Instadiary #2 - The sunny edition

Last week we were in (mostly) sunny Spain with friends. Here are some Instagram snaps.

Boots by La Botte Gardiane!

Ik spotte deze beauties twee weken geleden in de Brusselse shop Privejoke en was meteen verkocht. De laarzen van La Botte Gardiane worden volledig handgemaakt in Frankrijk. Volgens onheilspellende berichten zou Frankrijk het volgende land zijn waar de eurocrisis hard zal toeslaan. Aldus besloot ik -als ware altruïst- meteen mijn steentje bij te dragen tot redding van de Franse economie. Ik hoor het vriendje al meewarig iets mompelen à la 'alle redenen zijn goed zeker?'. Reken maar van yes, bovendien was ik al lang op zoek naar nieuwe cognackleurige laarsjes.

I saw these babies at Brussels' Privejoke two weeks ago, and instantly fell in love. La Botte Gardiane boots are all entirely handmade in France. Reportedly France will be the next country to be hit hard by the euro crisis, so I decided to do my part in supporting the French economy. Aside from this obviously very legitimate and selfless motive, I had been looking for a new pair of camel boots for a while.

Deauty Box April

 

Maandag (delivery day) barstte -zoals elke maand- de Deauty-buzz weer los op diverse sociale media. Tot gisteren verkeerde ik echter in de waan mijn Deauty-abonnement te hebben stopgezet (zie deze post). De stortvloed aan positieve reacties, deed mij met weemoed terugdenken aan het openen van die maandelijkse verrassingspakketjes :( (u merkt het: enige overdrijving is mij niet vreemd). Dat was natuurlijk buiten het vriendje gerekend, dat stiekem het abonnement nog even had verlengd.  Jawel: superboyfriend strikes again!

On Monday (delivery day) social media websites were buzzing about April's Deauty box (a Belgian beauty subscription service). Up until yesterday I was convinced no longer being subscribed to Deauty, so I felt a little sad given all the excitement about this month's box. 

My boyfriend however had secretly prolonged my subscription one last time as a surprise.  Yay! Superboyfriend strikes again! Read more to discover this month's goodies.

 

Instadiary #1

Mac Technique Workshop: review + shoplog!

Woensdagavond nam ik samen met de mama van mijn vriend deel aan een Mac Technique workshop in de Mac-winkel in de Dansaertstraat (zalig toch om een Mac store op wandelafstand te hebben). Gedurende zo'n workshop leer je stap voor stap hoe je een bepaalde look creëert met Mac producten. Het thema van de workshop was "Global Glamour" en de bedoeling was een heel natuurlijk doch glamoureuze make-up aan te brengen: understated red carpet glamour.

Wednesday evening I took part in a Mac Technique class with my mother in law (yes, you read that right!) at Mac Rue Dansaert (I am one lucky make-up lover having a Mac store at walking distance). A Mac Technique workshop is a two hour class taught by Mac-make-up artists on how to apply make-up with Mac-products step by step to achieve a specific look set by the workshop theme. Ours was called "Global Glamour" and we were taught how to create a natural but glamorous looking face: understated red carpet glamour.

Makeover by Fashionwise!

Gisteren mocht ik op bezoek bij Valerie Wouters, aka Fashionwise, blogster en freelance make up artist. Via haar giveaway won ik de nieuwe Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Broadest Berry. Ze zou mijn nieuwe aanwinst per post opsturen, tenzij ik liever voor een complete makeover met o.m. de bewuste chubby stick ging. Ik ging voor optie nummer twee en ontmoette zo Miss Fashionwise herself: een superlieve make up addict!

Yesterday I got to meet up with Valerie Wouters, aka Fashionwise, popular blogger and freelance make up artist. Through a giveaway on her blog, I won the new Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Broadest Berry. She gave me two options: either she would send my chubby to me by mail or she would give me a complete make over with it. I'm so happy I went with option n° 2, since I got to meet Valerie in person, who turned out to be the sweetest person.

My last Deautybox?

Ik had besloten dat de Deautybox van maart mijn laatste zou worden. Na zes maanden (drie maanden uit pure nieuwsgierigheid en vervolgens drie maanden als kerstcadeau) heb ik een heel arsenaal tubes en flesjes verzameld en vind ik het even welletjes geweest.

I had decided that this month's Deautybox would be my last one. After six months (my first three month subscription out of curiosity, the next three months as a Christmas present) samples and bottles started to accumulate in my bathroom.

Zou de maartse Deautybox zo geweldig zijn dat ik mijn goede voornemen zou laten varen? Hiervoor zal meer nodig zijn dan een paar paaseitjes Deauty! *karakter*

However could my March Deautybox be so amazing I would prolong my subscription anyways?
